60i footage imported as 24FPS in AvidXpressPro- @#$&!!!

I wrapped a short about a month ago that was shot on an XL2/24p/2:3 pulldown. The director decided to cut it himself. I just went to look at the rough cut, and it turns out the genius imported all of the footage as 24 fps video (TRUE 24, not 23.98... wtf!) instead of 60i.

I'm not a post guy (outside of color correction) by any means, so I'm wondering... is there a way for him to fix this without creating a new project, re-capturing everything, and starting from scratch? EDL? Media manager?
I normally use Final Cut so I'm not much help with Avid or Windows.

He's running on Win XP Pro, Avid Xpress Pro (2003 version), no mojo.
