Ethernet Connections Between Computer & Standalone HDD/DVD Recorder?

I have a Toshiba RD-XS54 HDD/DVD recorder with Ethernet capabilities. To transfer video between this and a computer with XP-Home, what do I need in the way of connectors and a network hub? Since this type of unit with this Ethernet function is a new thing, my computer's networking instructions aren't much help. The computer has an NVidia Ethernet Driver installed and there's an Ethernet port on the back.
