Anyone using a ADS Pyro A/V Link with Linux?

ADS makes what looks like an awesome accessory but I cannot get it to work with Kino.
I tried putting it's OS selection switch (I know, red flags go up now) through every position, quitting Kino 7.5, restarting it, all dozens of times, with no luck. If it plays at all, it only plays for a second before Kino locks up.
My "Preview on 1394" works fine to my Sony deck/camera. And the AVLink will work fine with feed from the Sony's. So the hardware at least looks ok, I just don't think Kino likes it. The OS selector can be set for Mac, WinXP, Win98, and other Wins. I was curious what difference this made, I thought Firewire was platform independent but according to the manual there is some kind of timing difference. Thanks for any help!
