24p editing / 16:9 look?
Hey there, I got a bunch of 24p footage to edit, but last I remembered premiere doesnt capture 24p footage? its from a dvx100a. Any software recommendations?
Also, I want to fake the widescreen look, if I just set up a "fake" widescreen look in after effects with two boxes to mask the top/bottom on the 4:3 ratio would it look ok? Thanks |

If you shot with one of the 3:2 pulldown methods (as opposed to advanced), I believe you shouldn't have any problems just editing it normally.
A few particular effects may look a little off. Premiere Pro will handle 24p properly, as will nearly everything else. Premiere 6.x may not be able to... and you'll appreciate the features and stability in Premiere, Vegas, Avid, FCP, etc. anyways. 2- You can fake widescreen by cropping or adding a mask on top |

in premiere it says DV playback for 29.97 and 25.00 fps. Should I use the Video For Windows to select 24.00?
And I suppose I should use 23.976 but premiere only lists 23.98 in the Video For Windows mode? |
