Software convertion or shrink at DVinfo.net

Hello

This is my 1st post not sure it I am posting in the right page. I recently got the xa10 very excited lots of features. Any ways what I need is that I recently recorded a event I have finished editing it and the file is 12gigs what I need is to shrink the video to fit a dvd size. I know quality will be effected but I don't have a blue ray yet. I would like to know if there's a software that will be able to shrink it and also what would I use for the settings. Can someone direct me in the direction that I need to take.
