RAID 0 or RAID 5 ?

I think you just answered my question below.

You shouldn't need to go more than about 150Mb/sec on a good intraframe codec such as Cineform. If you are using a bitrate in that range then RAID for your media drives would certainly not be needed."

I will/should not encode to anything faster than 150mbps. If one day I do, then, I can add the appropriate drives, internal or external.

So to recap

What about the following config, as far as drives

Boot/OS/Application hosting drive SSD 256GB or bigger
Media drive 2-4TB, the best quality I can afford
Render drive The biggest 10,000 rpm disk I can afford?

What do you think?
