Big Question for buying
What is the main big differences between Avid, Vegas and Premiere pro? I'm looking into buying one and would like some insight. I shoot with the agdvx100a.

Cost, system requirements, and user interface!
Honestly, all three will edit video. The question is: which one fits your workflow best? Each as advantages over the others. Each has disadvantages over the others. If you do a search, you'll find many comparisons. Personally, I chose Vegas. I like the workflow of Vegas. To me it "makes sense". I also like the scripting ability in Vegas which lets you write programs to automate many redundant tasks. But that was my choice. Each has a downloadable demo. Test drive them all. Read some random posts in the various forums for the products. Also read through the previous comparisons made here.

I think it has reached a point now, that they are all so good, that if you're doing something your NLE doesn't handle, then you should be using a different type of software, like a compositor or a graphic design program.
Like Edward said, it's all about personal preference in workflow. |
