Autoindexing tape and creating log

Hi,

I would like to find a program that automatically detects clip start/stop from a tape via firewire and creates a log file of all the scenes. Does anyone know of such a progra? I don't have the hard drive space to save everything directly to my computer so I want a log that I can at least organiza scenes that I want to keep from.
