Expanding RGB to 150%

hi all,

i have EZDV on my PC (i know its old but it works well & is very stable given my PC is 3 yrs old now)

i have an option in the menu which says "expand RGB range to 150%". should I select this option & what does it do? is there any benefit to me?

thanks..

Is there nothing on this in the manual or help files?

hi rob,

checked my user manual & it had no mention of this (because when i did an update 2 years ago thats when the option came into the program)

i did a google on it too & whilst it was mentioned on a website it didn't explain what it actually was...

I should know but have forgotten ... it is an awkward way to describe the YUV conversion, IIRC -- but more to the point Canopus maintains forums, and an active forum for EZDV ... and you can expect some participation from Canopus staff at the forums. You might want to post in the EZDV forum and link the post to the Canopus Premiere forum as I believe the option is available from within Premiere too ...

[ I opened the Canopus configuration dialogue on my RexRT system & find that within the options is a check box for 'YUV and RGB conversion >Expand RGB range to 150% ... tellingly, or perhaps not, I don't have it checked ...]
