Compression Settings
I digitized my canon xl1 footage with premiere 6 via firewire and i'm now in the post effects stage.
I imported my raw untampered footage in after effects to do some work...but noticed that when I export with the microsoft dv codec, my targas and bitmap graphics that I added look horrible...looks like a bad save to web setting. So i'm wondering is there a way to output decent combined video and graphic footage other then uncompressed? Help greatly appreciated |

DV should look fine. What resolution and quality are your original
bitmaps?

All my pics and graphics are high quality 720 by 480...the artifacting with the dv compression is really bad...for high quality video does one have to go uncompressed out of after effects....cause if so...the dv compressed footage comes out HUGE(file size)
Thanx |

I don't exactly follow your uncompressed question. But if you
e-mail me one bitmap (zipped!!) to visuar@iname.com I'll see what it does when I DV encode it. What are you using to view the resulting DV file?
