Editing with location time-code

One limitation that I find problematic in doing double-system sound in DV editing is inputting audio or video with a time-code track recorded as audio.

In full-grade Avid you can input an audio track where you recorded TC and instruct the program to recognize that as TC and slave an audio or video track to that.

In 2003 I was told that the latest DVxpress version could do that too, but I couldn't check on it. Has anyone used that cappability?

Can you do that using other NLE programs, like Vegas or Premiere?

An NLE like Vegas or Premiere definitely cannot do that. Can't
vouch for Avid.
