You will also find that the Nvidia cards are the recommended video editing cards by Avid. Their OpleGl implementation makes them great for overlay on XP Pro machines.
They did have a "fuzzy" rap some years back but they have come a long way. My GForce MX440 is working very well at only 64Meg (shared at that). The recommended cards can be found on the Avid compatibility lists at avid.com. That doesn't mean there are no other cards that will work for other applications. Just that Avid says these are "qualified" for their systems. FYI. Sean
