what happens if you watch a PAL VHS in USA or Canada

HI

I live in Europe and I have to encode all of my movies to pal (720-576) in order to watch them on tv or on dvd. That is the only solition for me, but what happens if you watch this movie/burned dvd or recorded VHS in AMerica or Canada?

NTSC >>720-480
PAL <>>720-576

THanks

i have made pal dvd's that will play on some ntsc dvd players and tv's... but you can see framerate issues on high-motion scenes, so it's not something that you want to sell.
