Alparysoft Lossless Video Codec-FREE
Anyone use this or know how much it shrinks uncompressed in the lossness format?

The first bullet in the linked product description says that mathematically lossless compression is 2 - 5 times, while second bullet says that visually lossless compression is 5 - 15 times. (By way of comparison, DV is fixed at 5 times).
Interesting that this is freeware. Has anyone used it well enough to know that it is (1) a robust, non-buggy product and (2) free of spyware / adware?

Well, I can't find anything info to suggest that it also installs spyware on the net; looks like a pretty technical outfit. Don't think Gator is a shareholder.
2-5 times is really good, anything over 2 is good no? Huffy is 2? Guess it would boil down to cpu load vs compression factor. Thanks. |
