AVI Metadata / Datacode ( Date+Time ), any NLE?
Hi all,
I have both Premiere Pro 1.5(recently upgraded my old 6.5) and Vegas 5.0b - still I can't find a solution. I'd like to display the shoot-date from the DV AVI, the date when I filmed the event. As far as I can see neither Vegas or Premiere can show this information at all? Found a freeware util called date-code that scans a DV AVI and generates a textfile with date+time code ... but I must say that I'm rather surprised that the NLE doesn't support this simple feature from start. I've also found free/shareware programs that can convert the date-code textfile into subtitles for DVD-making....also a function I expected to be "built in" ( using Encore ). In Vegas maybe the date+time is available through the scripting interface...haven't checked that out yet. Am I missing something? Or are the programs lacking this functions? // Lazze \\ |

To the best of my knowledge it is indeed not available. I'm
surprised by this as well. Not much we can do about this at the moment though. QuickTime player shows it as well when you load a DV clip into it.
