Windows longhorn
Windows Longhorn, the next version of Windows is said to be the next best thing to the ultimate operating system. Any more news on this?

What kind of news are you looking for? The beta's/RC are being
pushed back and back and reportdly being in the middle of 2005 now. Possible release end 2005 or 2006 probably. It will have some new features but nothing too earth shattering I believe (yes I know about WinFS). It's still a long time away, so we'll have to wait and see I guess.

WinFS is an additional filesystem on top of NTFS that supports
storing extra information and then searching and using that information. It is based on Microsoft SQL Server (database engine) to connect all of this. Should allow for some interesting stuff, but mainly (or at least in the beginning) in the enterprise area's and developers.

Actually, the ground breaking part for us will be in color. MS is getting serious about color and display. The gamut will be much wider with support for 200+dpi displays. I think I remember scRGB as the support for the Aero desktop (the new desktop).
