Tool to merge AVCHD without reencoding
I recently purchased canon's HF200... I need a tool to merge the files imported from the camera without reencoding... Image mixer coming with the camera does that but unfortunately it stores the files imported from the camera in a bizzre way i couldn't find them with ease by windows explorer... any help?

It seems that Image Mixer is designed to be the portal through which you access the files on the camera's SDHC card. My guess is that the cards use a file system something like FAT32 because you can see discrete files on the card but max out at something like 2GB each, if I remember correctly. The software will knit them back together into a single file that will be easier for you to deal with.
I record 4-5 continuous hours on my HF100 and the software serves up a single file for me. I'll transcode that into QuickTime/DNxHD so I can use it in PP CS3. |
