Encore file format incompatibility

There is one more thing: Premiere and AE also didn't accept a file...

(I have an .avi file which is 640 in width and 352 in height. Frame rate is 29 frames per second.

The problem is: I want to burn this file on a DVD disc in Adobe Encore. But Encore say: Could not import this file. Video files for this project must have a resolution of 720×576 or 704×576.

Then i decide to encode this file into a .mpg in TMPGEnc. It didn't work. I try to encode it then in WINMPG. It told me that there is problem with frames.

So. My point is: I want to make PAL 3:4 DVD inside Encore, but I can not convert a file. Problem is about size and frame rate if I understand right.

I must mention that the only program which was able to do this job was Nero Vision Express, but I was limited about making Menus etc... Nero encode the thing in a right way, that means, when I look it on a 3:4 TV, there are black bars above and below...

But I want to make it inside Encore...

Thanx for answers...

Marko)

Could you not import the file and then resize it when you are in Encore? This now remeber is coming from a Mac person using DVD SP 2.

After effects should accept it with no problem. 29 frames per second? Strange rate. It should either be 29.97 (drop-frame) or 30 fps if it came from a NTSC source.
