i need your help!!
whats the best SW to use to offload video from my GL2 to my PC?
i thought when purchasing this camera it would of came with some sort of SW that will let me do this....but the cd that it came with only looks like its only for still images..=/ (Digital Video Solutions) |

This is accomplished via editing software, such as Vegas Video, Adobe's Premiere, et.al. through a process called "capturing". The software captures the footage through the camera's Firewire port.

You need a firewire card first of all...then some good video editing software...
Get the Firewire card for $30 from www.newegg.com. I have the same one and it works great, even comes with a cable. |

If you are new to editing video on a PC, let me recommend Video Factory. It is Vegas' baby brother but it cost less and give you less possibilities.
If you want to go further some time, and consider Vegas, you will already have gotten used to a similar working environment, which will reduce Vegas' learning curve for you. And you will get a good deal from Sonic Foundry when you upgrade. |
