Geforce 8600 GS or ATI 2600HD for laptop video editing?

I intend to get a laptop and had shortlisted 2 particular laptop, one with 8600 GS the other had a 2600HD graphic card. Which is better for editing and rendering? I'm using 8600GT on my desktop and rendering clips with Magicbullet effects are very slow. I'm not sure if ATI 2600Hd will be better. Any advise?

Are you doing heavy 3D rendering in 3DSMAX or similar program? Any After effects work?
