Annotating long videos

Hi there,

Is anyone aware of any software tools (for the PC) which allow users to easily annotate videos? What I'm looking for is an app which allows users to navigate through a video and tag sections of the video. (e.g. "23:11 - 23:58 is a good quote about TV repeats; 26:01-28:00 is a good discussion about video on demand" etc etc). I understand that the MPEG-7 standard is all about video annotation.

Why do I ask? I do quite a lot of video production for a media consultancy. A lot of the work I do for them consists of filming lots of focus groups and then editing all that video down to a few little videos.

Our current workflow is frustratingly inefficient:

The client watches through all the rushes and makes notes about which parts of the videos they like (these notes are made in Excel). The client sends these notes to me and I set about finding the corresponding clips (which takes ages because the timecodes in the notes are usually way off).

So - ideally I'd like to give the client an easy-to-use app which allows them to scrub back and forth through each video and make notes for the various sections of the video. This should make life easier for both the client and for me.

I could try using Adobe Clip Notes but I've found it to be quite clunky.

Any ideas?

Clipnotes is the only thing I was going to suggest, that is what it was designed for.

Thanks for the reply. I should play a little more with clipnotes.
