exporting to film

Hi, decided on going with Vegas over Avid for all the usual reasons, but wanted to know if at some point in my aspiring indi film career (more like just a wannabe right now) I decide I want to print to film something I've edited with Vegas, is there another program for doing what is needed or, would someone who dreams of doing this be better off, going straight to Avid?

Just want to learn a little more about this thing of ours.

Jeff,

I contacted some production houses here in NYC and, if you want to eventually move your work into film, they strongly suggested shooting in 60i. Never use the frame mode. The frame mode introduces video movement artifacts when converting to 24fps. If the picture is relatively stable(static/no movement) then I imagine frame mode is ok.

Edit as normal in Vegas or Avid Xpress DV, but keep the project at 60i. I edit in Avid Xpress DV.

Now, I have not done the transfer yet, but if funding comes along, I'm ready to.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!
