Nikon D7000 First Frames

I got my D7000 from B&H a couple of weeks ago and it sat in the box untouched as I tried to dig out from under a deluge of work. Finally I got a chance to shoot with it. I had, and still have, no doubt that in the right hands it is a fantastic DSLR and will take as good a still image as any other DSLR out there. My interest in this body is primarily for its video capability. I want a small (relative to my D2xs) capable stills camera which will also produce marketable video and will complement my Canon and Sony HDV cameras.
I think I've found it.
I shot this piece to see the way the D7000 handles moire and aliasing. Lots of woven fabrics, diagonal lines and bright colors. I see no aliasing in my shots, and moire was minimal, and nothing that couldn't be addressed during the shoot.
The rolling shutter is not likely to be an issue for me, my HDV cameras will provide a workaround if I ever need one.
Most of all I love the fact that from 10mm to 400mm, plus extension tubes and teleconverters, I can now shoot creative video with my full bag of Nikkor glass.
I had fun shooting and editing this piece.
I hope you enjoy it.
Rich.

Absolutely wonderful. If this camera had been available in June, I would not own a Canon now.

Very sweet, excellent use of the strengths of this camera... In this genre, this body is going the give the EX3 a run for it's money!

Lovely film. I just bought a D7000 yesterday and I can't wait to try editing some of the footage in Vegas.

Nicely shot.... I have been waiting to see a convincing test of the D7000 and think you just provided it
