Clamp-On Filter Threads
I found this on ebay and it fits perfectly, but the problem is that it uses a 36mm filter threads which doesn't have very many options. It's the A36 Filter adapter for the old Leica / Leitz cameras. The one I bought said it was a summitar adapter
("Leica Adapter Summitar Filters to Clamp Mount Elmar"). I've seen several on ebay and other online camera stores. It stays on really well and strong without putting marks on the camera. http://www.tupware.com/images/sanyoclamp.jpg |

36mm is not bad at all, use a step-up ring and get to something like 42 or 52mm for a huge selection of filters.
Off to ebay for a filter adaptor. Bo www.bophoto.com/HDV |

I bought an Actina 36mm push on filter from Ebay. This had a UV filter, but it's threaded internally at 34mm. I removed the filter and am using a Kood 34-46mm stepup ring to fit a Sony wideangle lens I've had around for some time. I've used a ring of self amalgamating rubber tape to secure the filter to the camera as an additional support and the whole assembly seems quite stable:

How about this adaptor?
I purchased this adaptor from Amazon, and it works perfectly. Well it should, as it's made by Sanyo for this model. It'll allow you to put on any 49mm filter.
