Anyone getting purring camera sound?
Anyone getting purring camera sound? I thought for a while it was one of those ambience type sounds you don't hear live, but that the mic pics up.. from the environment not the cam.
However, it seems to recur wherever I am. It sounds like a tape cycling, though obviously there's no tape in the HD1. Very faint. Some kind of faint interior mechanism, judging by the sound. Just wondering if anyone else hears it.

With the built in mike I get a clicking from the autofocus, which is why I am using the external mike in quiet environments. If I lock the focus, I don't get it.

It's so persistent. Buying an external, if tiny, mic is vital!

It have to be the autofocus, when playing with the camera in totally quiet enviroment, the clicking noice becomes very dominant, when hunting for focus on a white wall it sounded like a moped. (smile)
Though as soon as there is a reasonable sound volume it pretty much dissapear.. But yes, I did order a external mic also. (smile) Bo www.bophoto.com/HDV |
