That Sanyo is an interesting camcorder. Looks like they're doing something in the neighborhood of 6mbps, which is in the realm of reasonable for MPEG-4 compression of 720/30p, if the codec is good. It sure makes a lot more sense to use MPEG-4 compression (than MPEG-2) to get reasonable recording lengths of quality HD content using affordable storage technology (P2 cards just don't quite cut it when I look in my wallet).
