Re: Hero or another
I would simply use my phone, which is pretty new, rather than having to add an item and weight to my hiking gear. Newer nice phones (mine is a Moto X) match up pretty well with most action cams. Unless you've got a Hero4 Black and its 4K for video, maybe, which was on sale for $370 yesterday (via Ebay store, I think).

Re: Hero or another
Hi Steve,
SJ4000, cheap as chips, does everything the GoPro does, has a back screen and the last one I bought cost me £40. I have two and a GoPro. Roger |

Re: Hero or another
Ahh, as far as GoPros go, then the Silver would be a better choice for the typical person on a vacation. It has a back screen (unlike the Black) and can still do 2.7K, if he cares.

Re: Hero or another
the GoPro3 silver doesn't have a screen so you would need a GoPro 4. It all depends on how much you want to spend. The SJ5000+ I believe has a much bigger Panasonic sensor 1/2.3 plus wifi and screen.

Re: Hero or another
Hey Steve
I also have two and took them to Cocos Keeling Islands on our little vacation in December and they worked flawlessly!! I did some really rough footage for family but it gives you an idea how the camera works above and under the water ..excuse the wobbly footage though!! Chris |
