ContourHD survives for 2.5 years after being lost in Avalanche
I just saw the story of this on Global BC. (local news) and the official ContourHD blog had the same story:

In Hawaii, a GoPro was under water for a year, found, and returned to it's owner! Here's the story

Re: ContourHD survives for 2.5 years after being lost in Avalanche
I take it you're a contourHD owner? Well gopro has similar stories (google it), but as long as there are players in the market, good for us consumers. Gopro has the edge at the moment with gorpro hd3, but it looks like sony entering probably made gopro hot foot it pretty quick! Good for us! except that legacy housings etc. won't fit (gopro at least!). With any luck, contour will have to step up their game and deliver something pretty amazing. And yes the '4k' of gopro is complete BS, but 2.7k at 30 fps isn't...can see one in my future...and lots of warp stabilizer! Regardless, all good for us!
