Remote LCD for GoPro???
Hi All
I run my GoPro on a huge lighting stand at weddings about 20' to 30' up in the air so despite having an LCD BacPac You cannot see the final view...!! What I was thinking was to hook up the cam via the composite out and run a cable down the stand so I can plug into a 7" LCD monitor simply to make sure the framing is OK!!! (I'd disconnect once I'm happy) I'm pretty comfortable making up cables but does anyone know which pins are used on the 2.5mm composite plug for video ??? It's a 4 section plug so more than likely the bottom ring is ground but I need to know which of the top two rings or the tip is used for video (the other two would be L and R audio) which I don't need at all. Anyone got a GoPro cable and a multitester so I know which is which so I can make up just a "video out" cable??? Any help would be appreciated!! Chris |

Re: Remote LCD for GoPro???
In case anyone wants to know..I found the connections to run an external monitor from the camera so I can leave it up it's 20' stand and check the framing!!
You just buy a 2.5mm 4 connector jack plug and it has 3 rings on it and a tip. The two rings nearest the cover are : 1st ring - Video/Audio ground 2nd ring Video Out ...and for interest 3rd ring and tip are left and right audio out. Chris |

Re: Remote LCD for GoPro???
Another way is to go wireless..... lots of Radio Control Pilots are using the GoPro camera and a set of video goggles ... here's a site that shows many of the long range video being shot...
