Firmware for 24p and gain control?
Just wondering if anyone knows if there's a firmware update on the way. I know they recently released their firmware update to record upside-down and in 25p...was wondering if there would be anyway for the GoPro team to allow users to record in 24p and also to limit the amount of gain added when it gets dark. I'd rather have darker footage that gain in some cases. Not sure if this is possible. Also looking forward to some remote access somehow to turn the camera on and off via remote while it's on the car etc. Just throwing ideas in the wind.

One potential camera option for you is the Canon S95.
It records 24 frames and you can specify max ISO. It has an underwater case available....and it is CCD!!

re: 24p, you could take a page from the Z1U filmmakers - record in 25p and slow it down 4% in post

I agree with the firmware request. The expantion port on the bottom of these little beautys is begging for some awesome upgrades. Remote Control is great. An LCD expansion has been promised, but at this point, I have never seen one available.
