which deck would you'll recommend that you know works with the canon xh-a1 hdv?

which deck works the best at playing the canon xh-a1 and xh-x1 tapes?

any 1st hand experiences would be appreciated!

If you shoot in HDV 24F or 30F the best priced deck solution is an HV20 camera. If you shoot in HDV 60i only.... then you can get a Sony deck.

This is a frequently asked question around here...

-- Any Sony HDV deck will play back Canon 1080i60 video, but not Canon Frame mode video. Currently these decks are the Sony M15U / M25U / HVR-1500.

-- Any Canon HDV camcorder will play back all Canon video including Canon Frame mode video. Currently these camcorders are the HV10 and HV20 models.
