Panasonic AMQ in Europe
Hi:
I have searched for Panasonic tapes in Europe trying to find a dealer, but I suspect that Panasonic in their infinite wisdom have changed the DVM63AMQ label. Can anyone confirm this? which? where? Thanks, Erik |

Thanks! So, what is the current Panasonic tape? I have found some called Panasonic Professional Super Linear Plus (AY-DVM60YE). Is this the new pro-line?
I have difficulties finding a EU-dealer that will ship to Spain (well, I have found one, but they don't give sufficient information that I can pay them - even after several mails). Thanks, Erik |

Hi Erik,
I think it is still available in Europe or at least Sweden. I bought a box a few months ago and it was delivered directly from Panasonic. You can see one dealer here but don'y know if they sell to Spain. http://www.scandinavianphoto.com/pro...px?iID=1562375 Good luck! /Johan |

Thanks, it appears that the Panasonic tapes, MQ/AMQ as well as Super Linear Plus, are being discontinued. So I have decided to look for something completely different in order not to change brand.
Also, surfing around it appears that tapes (unrecorded magnetic media) are not subject to customs, CN code 85232915, so ordering from US or other non-EU country you only have to add VAT. That widens the choices. See: http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/dds/en/tarhome.htm I have previously preferred not to order from outside EU because of unknown customs and return handling - but tapes are not stuff that I find likely to return and customs seems not to be a problem in this case. Cheers, Erik |
