Sony DSR-11 not transfering footage to my mac

After checking all settings when I try and capture to imovie, a window comes up saying that the unit is "sending half size frames" and won't transfer any footage. It was recorded in sp mode. The deck is set to dvsp. Not sure what this is all about but this is my third and certainly most expensive trial at trying to get something to capture with other than my XL2. Thanks

It's not an error code for the DSR-11. So I'm guessing the problem is with what iMovie is 'seeing'. Could be you've got the wrong NTSC/pal setting?

I've got the recorder set to pal, which is what i'm shooting with here in france. i've had no problems capturing direct from my XL2 into imovie. perhaps i've got my hands on yet another screwed-up piece of equipment.

Loose?

Could be that lame 4-pin on the back...probably not. Could be a (perceived) performance thing. Restarting do anything?

Try and dub between the DSR 11 and your XL2. If you can dub back and forth, it's not the deck.
