is there a deck that can play my HD tapes?

Was just wondering if there were anything that i can play my mini dv tapes from my FX1 on without using the camera? is there some kind of deck that can do this

all i need is something where i can play my tapes without the need to keep getting the camera out each time

Hello

Thank you for the model numbers

Its a little over priced for what i need i just need a simple player so i can play my footage back on my TV without the need to keep getting the camera out i dont need anything with a built in LCD screen or anything

Any other help would be great i am not sure if they even make these sort of things but i just want something i could stick my tapes in to play back on the TV

AFAIK these are the only reasonably priced ones on the market. The price is rather steep. I agree with that, but it could not be expected (yet) to be comparable or even lower than a DSR-11, which only delivers DV/DVCAM. The DSR-11 is still $ 1.600 at B&H.

Hi Jim, you could always use a consumer-grade 1-chip HDV camcorder for this purpose.

for the cost of a JVC BR-HD50 HD tape recorder, u can get two Firestore hard disk recorders. your transport will never have to see a mylar tape again.
