Tired of DVM60prs - they are acting up

I have been using the sony DVM60prs for about a year now. price is good but it finally happen that i inserted one in my dsr11 from a day shoot in an event and its not playing back i also notice dropped frames every once a while.
i can go to panasonic AYDVM63MQ but since my camera has only used sonys till now i'm kinda concerned.
any recomendations?
do i really need to change?

(the problem listed with dsr 11 occured 3 month after the probelm with the sony tape. The tape doesnt play in any decks)
