Can anyone talk about their experience with this deck? I am getting to the point where it might be worth spending the money to save wear and tear on the camera. I understand Sony is coming out with a 'big mouth" version in June. Would like to know more about that too.
Thanks, Jack Hubbard |

If you are considering the deck purely for capturing HDV footage to computer, from tape shot with one of Sony's HDV cameras, you might consider the alternative of purchasing an HC1, to use as a capture deck (at slightly less than half the cost). I'm considering doing just that (and perhaps using it as a second camera to my FX1 for awhile, also), before B&H runs out of stock on the HC1.

Done!
Great idea, Robert. Did it. Got the HC-1 from B & H yesterday. Many thanks.
