Tape causing problem

Maybe someone has seen this before. I did a shoot the other night, it was just for fun so it's not a big deal, just had me baffled for a bit. I used my JVC HD10 with the same brand of tape that I always use. It was however the second run through for the tape ( For important shots I don't reuse). Anyway I have a 5 min clip with no breaks. When I watch it from the cam it works great, however when I try to capture it breakes it into different clips...When I test another tape it works fine. Does the tape pick up the breaks from the first recording...Is that possible. Just wondering if anyone has seen that before. It's the first time I have seen it. Using the Hd capture Utility that cam with the camera. Normally works well. Any ideas or input would be great.
