Panasonic released new Advanced Master Tape

I don't know much about them other than the following:

Called "Advanced Master"

Part Numbers:
AYDVMxxAMQ for miniDV format
Where xx = 33, 48 or 63
and
AYDVxxAMQ for large tape format
Where xx - 96, 124, 186 or 276

My prices are comming in (based on miniDV format 63min)
if PM=$1, MQ = $1.2, AMQ = $2.6

so while they are not cheap, they still arn't all that expensive if they provide improved reliability and less drop outs. Could be a good option for important shoots in HDV.

I didn't think the Advanced Master series fit into MiniDv decks. So you're saying they just put these out for MiniDv as well? Sweet.

I had assumed they were new to both formats, but if you are saying they have been around in large format for a while, then yes, they are new to miniDV format. Thats what my tapes sales supplier is telling me.

Panasonic Advanced Tape

My company sells the tape, and it comes in Mini DV and the large format DV. It works in all mini DV cameras. And the large format works in all large format cameras and decks. They say it is a better tape with less drop-outs. But use your own judgment on that.

Good luck.
