Sony DSR-25 Questions

I will be upgrading my DV deck this summer and am leaning towards the DSR-25, but have a couple quick questions that I can't seem to find direct answers to.

Does the deck have "pass-through" capability? I occasionally have to capture VHS footage, so this is a big plus. My guess would be that it can do this no problem, but wanted to make sure.

I've read threads regarding this deck not playing 24p footage which is okay by me, but can it play 30p? I am hoping to get an XL2 at some point and plan to shoot 30p if everything coordinates properly.

At this point, those are my two main concerns. Of course, any other input on the deck's characteristics would be very appreciated.

pass through for DSR25

Hiya,
I own a DSR 25, and it does have the ability to pass directly through to a VHS deck. I do it all the time. I'd rather make detailed logs from a VHS than directly from the DV tape.

I'm not sure about the 24p thing though. I just got my own XL2...so I'll have to see...

hope this helps.
