mini dv camera, 3 ccd?
Based on everything I have read here, I am now wondering if I should purchase a mini dv camera with a better lens. The video work I will be doing is in a very remote area, and some of it will hopefully be integrated into a documentary film project. If I decide to purchase a mini dv camera, I would appreciate any suggestions on a good model among the lower priced versions. I have seen several 3ccd models in the $700-800. Do you think a camera would be significantly better than my Sony TRV340? Again, any would will be greatly appreciated.

It will sure be better than 340. I have also seen picture from some sub1k$ Panasonic cameras. Not bad at all, and if properly shot, very usable.
