DV/S-VHS Dual-Deck VCRs??
Has anyone used the various models of JVC dual-deck VCRs, that have slots for both mini-DV and S-VHS cassettes? Both the consumer and pro divisions have models and there are several older ones from previous years. I'm wondering how well they play recorded DV tapes from other brands of camcorders and VCRs. The new pro model plays back DVCAM tapes. They sell for about the same price as a DV-only Sony or Panasonic mini-VCR, so if they were good performers, one might be a good buy.

The only complaints I've read and heard have been compatability issuees with NLE. If I remember correctly, you don't use a NLE so I think you'd be happy with the JVC. I have several friends who are very happy with theirs and the ease of making dupes.

Sony makes a very good one that plays Large and mini DV.
It is SVHS and DV SONY WV-DR-7 or DR-5 DR-5 is plain VHS/DV $1,250.00 Better act fast though Sony has discontinued them! http://home.att.ne.jp/sigma/selander/DV_Decks.html R
