Dirty heads, are they clean or are they wrecked
Hi,
Ive been using a friends single ccd cam as a deck for my pdx10, Ive been capturing a few tapes lately and its just started to have theres heaps of drop outs, followed by this message to clean the heads. I am wondering am I ruining my mates cam by using it as a deck? Im basically playing entire tapes onto my machine for capture with a tiny bit of fast forwading. Is the message simple; clean the heads. Or does it mean stop using this cam as a deck cause im ruining it. Also will a head cleaner fix the problem or will it ruin the heads? Thanks all, |

Just try to use cleaner tape, but use it for 10sec. max. If heads are dirty, this does the trick in most cases. You can't mess up heads with one cleaning tape session.
