tdk mini dv master series

I'm curious, has anyone had any experience with the tdk mini dv master tapes they offer in Asia?

http://www.tdk-asia.com/products/camcorder/dvmmaster.php

If anyone can translate japanese there's also a great article on the Japanese site regarding the differences between their regular line and master line of mini dv tapes. Apparently the master tapes are more resistent to wear and tear from pause/standby mode on most camcorders. Which is why most camcorders have a handy "power save mode" that shuts off the camcorder (unlocking the tape heads, removing the strain on the tape, etc). Leaving a camera in standby for prolong periods of time can actually damage your tapes... can anyone confirm?
