Designed for any mini-DV or DVCAM camcorders.

Am I reading this right?.... you can record 184 minutes in DVCAM or 276 minutes DV SP on a mini cassette (PDVM-184DM)? Wow... that would be terrific for taping stage shows.

Hmmm. I don't know why they classify the shell as "mini" when the pictures show the larger size for the 64, 124 and 184. This being the case, there's nothing new about the running time for those size tapes.

Yeah, that's why I asked, since the chart clearly says "mini". Probably just a typo since you'd think they would be listing longer times as a big selling point otherwise.

More likely than not, this is actually just a typo, and the tapes are merely a new way for Sony to try and separate a few more dollars from us and fix something that "ain't broke"...

True enough. I've never had any problems with DVCAM stock--I wonder how this new stock will compare in price.

I YET to see a comparison with the Panasonic DVM63MQs vs these tapes.... Should be an interesting match! These two tapes are the top of the consumer line....pretty much "pro" according to each of them.
