Dv / S-vhs Recorders
Does anybody have any recomendations for a DV / S-VHS Recorder? I was going to purchase the JVC, but have heard bad things about it. PLease let me know where you purchased the unit and about how much I should expect to spend.

I've been using one for a year now with no problems. Very convienent to be able to dub back and forth. Also feed DV out through it to a calibrated monitor while editing so always know what I'll be getting. Think I paid about $800 at BH but they have come down a bit since then. |

Thanks for the info Rob. What model are you using? What type of camera are you connecting to it?

Using a SR-VS30. It feeds a Matrox RTX100 Extreme Card. Shooting (until later today when my DSR500 arrives) on a GL2. Probably ran 300 hrs of MiniDV with no problems and 1 (maybe 2) cycles of the head cleaning tape. I use Panasonic Master series tapes exclusively. Just found this on Ebay which may also be of interest to you. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3042467237&category=21168 |
