TDK DV Tape Quality and Problems
Could some one give me low down on the problems related to mini DV tapes produced by TDK?

I've posted on several occasions about severe dropout problems with TDK and Maxell tapes. Their cassette cases seem to be less rigid also.

TDK
I've never had problems but others apparently have. I was wondering how chronic this was and whether I sould be making a change.

Manufactures never really tell the end user when a tape formulation is changed. My experiences with TDK ended several years ago. I used to allow clients to supply their own tapes. Over a period of several years, I consistently had problems with both Maxell and TDK tapes. I was in the habit of cleaning heads between brands and it did not good. I wasn't experiencing head clogs, but rather, drop outs. I switched to suppling my own tapes and using Panasonic tapes. No problems since the switch.
But that was several years ago. If you aren't having problems now, I see no reason to switch.
