Sony HVR-M15 problems?

I'm getting ready to buy a HVR-M15 deck and just looking for some opinions of whether it's good or bad before I spend all that money. Any suggestions on other decks you like is appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum, Wyman,

Since this question isn't specific to Mac's and instead Sony hardware I'd have the moderator move this thread over to the appropriate subject forum where more Sony HDV users will be able to see your question.

I put it on here because I use Final Cut Pro and thought maybe there were some specific things that have happened with the M15 while using FCP. If you feel it needs to be moved that's fine.

I have the M10 and wish that I had waited for the M15, being able to use the full size DVCam tapes would be very nice! I haven't had any problems with my M10 and I use FCP a good portion of my time.

My M10 is a very nice field recorder that complements my DSR 50s when I'm shooting DVCam. I really like it that it takes the same batteries as my PD170s and Z1U.

Thanks Doug. Anyone else with a vote for or against the M15?

I own the M15 and love it
(yes, it's great to be able to use
the full size DV/DVCAM tapes).

Best
