Maxell MDV-63
Does anyone have any experience with Maxell's new professional tape (MDV-63)? How would this fare with an HDV Camera (XH-A1). Also if I try this and then switch, what tape brand would be compatible (i.e. wet or dry)? Thanks for your input.

Maxell used to make the very best in audio cassettes but that was a long time ago.
I would stick with the pro Sony or Panny tapes, they are proven performers. |

I have been using Maxell me mini DV tapes for years and have never had a problem. When I switched to HDV I still had a bunch of the Maxells and I just started using them with my Sony V1s and my HC1 still no problem. When I bought two V1s I got coupons for 10 free Sony pro tapes I never cashed them in because I knew I would not continue to use them at the price they sell for. Again I have never had a problem with the Maxell tapes in three Sony HDV cams. The expensive tapes are just not worth the money. I will continue to use the cheap Maxell tapes until Sams quits selling them.
