Re: GY-HM600/650 Camcorders Get EBU Approval
I never knew about this report, but was searching for "perfect" settings to start out with on my camera. Glad to have found a good place to start with. However one thing right near the end that seemed strange was when they talked about external recording. They mentioned that it would still only be 8bit, where I remember reading that the HDSDI out would produce a 10bit recording on the 600. Am I incorrect in my memory?

Since the camera records internally at 8-bit, I thought it would also send out an 8-bit signal through the SDI.

The HDSDI signal is still 8 bit, but it's 4:2:2 rather than 4:2:0, which is what the internal recording produces.
