Filters on the GY-HM600
I'm still dreaming that the HM600 will get a firmware update to support AVCHD2 and therefore be of interest to me.
Looking at the operator manual, it's stated that the lens hood needs to be removed to fit a filter, but it's not clear if there is enough room to reattach the lens hood with a filter fitted. The only filter I would want to use is a polariser. Looks like it would be difficult to get at it to rotate it once the hood is reattached anyway. Can anyone who knows comment on this? |

Re: Filters on the GY-HM600
Michael, I share your frustration with the lack of AVCHD 2.0 on the GY-HM600. A lot of us are begging and pleading with Kris Hill of JVC UK to see if he can convince the JVC engineers to commit to some kind of an upgrade path. It is baffling that over 1.5 years after the release of AVCHD 2.0 that JVC missed the boat. Clearly the engineers have not been studying the market and have not spent much time shooting 1080 60p, or else they would realize that 30p is old these days!
Regarding the filter, I too love circular polarizers. Some of them have smooth enough operation that might make it possible to turn with the hood on, but I bet you would get prints on it fumbling! Please help! Thanks, Steve |
